"I support students with diverse needs, from learning disabilities and ADHD to autism, speech impairments, and behavior concerns, by guiding families and schools through effective strategies, assessments, and legal processes like IEPs and 504 Plans. With a focus on inclusive practices, assistive technology, and data-driven planning, I help create individualized pathways for student success." - Ashley D. Holbert Swestyn, M.S. Ed
Get Started TodayI support students with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dysgraphia, as well as those with ADHD and Intellectual Disabilities, by identifying their unique strengths and tailoring strategies that promote academic growth. I help families and educators understand the learner’s needs and create realistic, data-driven action plans.
I work with schools and families to ensure students access the learning environment through meaningful accommodations and assistive technology. Using Universal Design for Learning and inclusive practices, I help create classroom settings that support diverse learning styles and abilities.
Through individualized approach, I provide guidance for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional Disturbances, and Sensory Processing challenges. I conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and design Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) that improve student behavior and school engagement.
I support the full assessment process, helping teams collect and interpret meaningful data to inform eligibility, service planning, and instructional decisions. My focus is on building systems for ongoing data collection and progress monitoring that translate into actionable steps for student growth and goal achievement.
I collaborate with families and teams to support students with Speech and Language Impairments, ensuring their communication needs are effectively and consistently addressed through proper evaluation, accommodations, and integration into educational planning.
I guide families through the legal frameworks of Special Education, including IEPs, 504 Plans, and the broader rights of students under federal and state laws. My advocacy ensures that educational plans are both compliant and collaborative, always focused on meeting each student’s unique needs with clarity and confidence.
Having Ashley @ Specially Designed Special ED come to our IEP meeting and help us ahead of time to understand what our son’s needs are and what he should have in his IEP was so helpful and gave us peace of mind. It was so much less stressful to go into the IEP meeting. Having her present made me more comfortable and confident to ask for what we want to assure our son’s future is successful.
